Winter Vacation in the Carpathians with a Hot Tub in the Snow
Winter in the Carpathians is special. Knee-deep snow, blue sky, light frost on your cheeks — and in the evening you step out of a 40 °C tub straight onto the snow. This is our season.
Zakarpattia winter — what to expect
Zakarpattia winters are milder than eastern Ukraine (–5…–15 °C on average) but snowy: in January and February the polonyna snowpack reaches 1.5 m. More sunny days than the Prykarpattia side, drier air. Comfortable for both active skiing and slow forest holidays.
Around our estate in Soimy, snow usually arrives in early December and stays through late March. The forest road is cleared or packed — any car can drive in. Winter forest in Soimy is silent, enchanted, with snow-covered firs. Many guests call it the most beautiful season.

Why a winter hot tub is something else
In summer the chan is a spa. In winter it is a ritual. You enter 40 °C water with frost outside, snow-covered firs around, silent night, stars. After an hour you step onto the snow, take 2–3 laps around the tub, then dive back in. The classic Scandinavian contrast — vessels expand and contract, metabolism accelerates, the next morning you wake up "young again".
