Choose Pylypets if

• You are here purely for skiing and don't want a 30-min drive to the lift
• Your main target is Shypit (it's right next door)
• You enjoy the tourist-village atmosphere: cafés, music, foot traffic
• You don't have a car
• You like walking everywhere (most things within 1 km)

Choose Soimy if

• You want real silence — even on New Year's Eve
• You have a car and don't mind 30 min to the lift
• You travel with small kids (no car traffic, more space)
• You value savings — accommodation and catering are cheaper
• You prefer forest aesthetics to open slopes
• You plan to visit many Zakarpattia spots (Soimy is geographically central)

Pylypets specifics

Pros:

• Lift and Shypit minutes away
• Many cafés, competition keeps quality up
• Full "resort" feel in winter
• Hiking trails start in the village in summer

Cons:

• Crowded and noisy in peak season
• Significantly higher prices
• Tough parking on weekends
• Lots of touristy spots — harder to find authentic experiences

Soimy specifics

Pros:

• Real silence — even on New Year

• Closer to Synevyr and Kolochava
• Less commercialised — more "real" mountain feel

• A car is needed for all attractions

We host ~500 guests per year. 80% say they were grateful for the silence even in winter (when proximity to the lifts would have been the "logical" choice). Only 20% wished they had stayed closer to the lifts.

The formula: if 70%+ of your trip is skiing → Pylypets. If skiing is only part of the plan (≤40%) → Soimy.
