Shypit Waterfall — One of the Seven Natural Wonders of Ukraine

A 14-metre cascade on the slope of Mt. Velykyi Verkh, next to Pylypets village. 24 km (~35 min) from our estate.

About Shypit

Shypit is the pride of the Carpathians and one of the seven natural wonders of Ukraine (national vote, 2008). The mountain river Pylypets falls 14 metres in a cascade of parallel streams over natural stone slabs. The name "Shypit" comes from the hissing sound of the water. Altitude ~800 m, on the slope of Mt. Velykyi Verkh (1598 m), Volovets district, Zakarpattia.

Best months — May and June, when the snowmelt swells the river.
